Magnesium Oxide

Magnesium Oxide (MgO) is an inorganic compound that appears as a white, odorless, and tasteless powder. It has a high melting point and boiling point, is insoluble in water and alcohol, but soluble in acids. It is classified into light and heavy grades: light magnesium oxide is loose in texture, while heavy magnesium oxide is dense. It serves as an important raw material for high-grade ceramics and refractory bricks. In the pharmaceutical field, it can be used as an antacid for treating gastric disorders and also for drug purification.
